Julianne Szyper serves as the Deputy Director at the Virginia Department of Energy, where she plays a vital leadership role in advancing the Commonwealth’s clean, affordable, and reliable energy agenda. During her tenure, she helped establish the Virginia Clean Energy Innovation Bank, spearheading strategies for public and private capital infusion into energy and supply chain projects. She also oversees the Virginia Power Innovation Program grant fund dedicated to energy innovation and infrastructure development.

Julianne brings a robust foundation in government relations and public policy, having previously held leadership roles advising state legislators and non profit associations. She is recognized for her advocacy on behalf of women and civic engagement, receiving honors such as the Architect of Society Award and public policy accolades championed by the Women’s Public Leadership Network Independent Women's Forum. An alumna of Regent University, she earned her M.A. in Government with concentration in Law and Public Policy, building on her B.A. in Government and her education at UVA’s Sorensen Political Leaders Program.
