City Committee is the governing body of the Republican Party of Virginia Beach. It is made up of members who represent the precinct in which they live. The number of allotted seats per precinct is proportional to the number of votes in each precinct for a Republican in the last statewide Gubernatorial or Presidential elections.
Meeting Location: Virginia Beach Central Library
Meeting Times: Second Monday of the month, 7:00 pm
Membership: Most City Committee members are elected at a Mass Meeting held every two years in April. Anyone interested in Republican politics is encouraged to visit a City Committee meeting and consider joining. To become a member, you must be nominated at a meeting and return to the next consecutive meeting to be elected. Membership Dues: Full membership (voting) is $50 per year, due on or before May 1st for members elected at the Mass Meeting. All other members’ dues are due within 30 days of the date of their election. Associate Membership: Anyone who lives outside of Virginia Beach may become an Associate Member (non-voting) for $25 per year. Student Membership: Any student under the age of 18 may become a Student Member (non-voting) for $15 per year. |
